Privacy Policy
StrideSight is an AI running coach. It reads your runs from the services you connect, writes an analysis of each one, and answers your questions about your training. This page explains what it stores, which services process it, and how to delete it.
Your runs are sent to AI providers (Anthropic and OpenAI) to write analyses and chat replies, and only after you agree to it in the app. You can withdraw that consent at any time in Settings.
Where your runs come from
- Garmin Connect. When you connect your Garmin account, Garmin sends StrideSight the runs you record from then on: the activity summary and the activity file with its second-by-second data.
- Strava, if you connect it instead: the activity data Strava provides for each run.
StrideSight only reads from these services. It never posts to them or changes anything in your accounts.
What we store
- Your account: the name and email address you sign in with, your profile name and photo from a connected service, and age, weight or height if you or that service provide them.
- Your runs: distance, time, pace, heart rate, cadence, power, elevation, laps and splits, and the GPS route, which includes where each run starts and ends.
- What you add: how a run felt, the type of run, notes, your goal race, chat messages, and feedback you send.
- What the coach writes: run analyses, chat replies, and the notes it keeps about your training. You can see and delete those notes in the app.
- Connection tokens for the services you connect, so new runs can arrive.
- Usage records: the size and cost of each AI request made for your account, to keep the service affordable. These contain no run data.
AI processing
To write an analysis or a chat reply, StrideSight sends the relevant runs, your notes and your messages to an AI provider, which returns the text you see. Under their API terms, the providers don't use this data to train their models.
The app asks for your consent before any of your data goes to an AI provider. If you withdraw consent in Settings, analyses and chat stop, and nothing more is sent. The analyses are general training feedback, not medical advice.
Services that process your data
| Anthropic | Writes run analyses and chat replies (Claude). |
| OpenAI | Backup for analyses, and summarizing what you tell the coach so it remembers. |
| Render | Hosts the server that receives your runs and runs the app. |
| Neon | Hosts the database where your account, runs and analyses are stored. |
| Garmin, Strava | Send your runs, if you connect them. |
These services are in the United States. They handle your data only to provide StrideSight. We don't sell your data, show ads, or share it with anyone else, and nothing is shared for marketing.
Disconnecting and deleting
- Disconnect a service in Settings, or from Garmin Connect or Strava's own settings. New runs stop arriving; what's already stored stays until you delete your account.
- Delete your account in Settings → Delete account. Your account and everything listed above is removed from our database straight away, and the app's access to connected services is revoked. Copies in the database provider's short-term backups expire within 7 days. This can't be undone.
If you can't use the app, email us and we'll delete your data for you.
Security
Data travels over encrypted connections (HTTPS) and is stored with a database provider that encrypts it at rest. Access is limited to what's needed to run the service.
Children
StrideSight isn't meant for children under 13, and we don't knowingly collect their data. If you believe a child has signed up, email us and we'll delete the account.
Changes
If this policy changes in a way that affects your data, the app will tell you before the change applies. The date at the top shows the latest version.
